Terms of use
LAST UPDATED NOVEMBER 3, 2026
The short version
- CaresLog helps you keep records and follow reporting rules. You stay responsible for your care and your reports.
- Your home’s records are yours. You can download them.
- Keep sign-ins private, and use CaresLog only for your home’s work.
About these terms
These terms are an agreement between CaresLog (“we”) and the care home that uses CaresLog (“you”, “the home”). By using CaresLog, the home and its staff accept these terms. Our privacy policy explains how we handle information.
What CaresLog does
CaresLog is an app for keeping behavior logs, care notes, care plans, incident reports and staff time records, and for reminders about reports that are due. We may improve and change features over time.
You stay in charge of care and reporting
- CaresLog points out events that look like they must be reported and shows deadlines. It helps you follow the rules, but it is not legal or medical advice. The home decides what to report, and when, and is responsible for its reports.
- When CaresLog helps with the wording of a note, staff should read it and correct anything that is not right before saving.
- CaresLog does not replace the home’s own judgment, care plans set by professionals, or emergency services. In an emergency, call 911.
Accounts
- The home’s administrators add staff and decide what they can do.
- Each person uses their own sign-in and keeps their password private.
- Tell us right away if you think someone used an account without permission.
- The home makes sure the information it enters is accurate, and that it is allowed to record it.
Fair use
Do not use CaresLog to break the law, to access another home’s records, to try to get around its security, or to overload or harm the service.
Your records
The home owns the records it keeps in CaresLog. We use them only to provide CaresLog, as our privacy policy describes. The home can download its records, including as PDFs. If the home stops using CaresLog, it can download its records first; we then delete them unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
Free trial and payment
A free trial lets a home try CaresLog before paying. The price and payment terms are agreed with the home before the trial ends. A home can stop at any time. If a home does not continue, it keeps the chance to download its records.
Availability
We work to keep CaresLog running and backed up, and it keeps working on the device without internet. Like any online service, it may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance or an outage.
Limits of our responsibility
CaresLog is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, or for decisions made using CaresLog. If we are responsible for a loss, our total responsibility is limited to the amount the home paid us in the 12 months before.
Ending
A home can stop using CaresLog at any time. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk, and we will tell the home’s administrator why.
Changes and law
If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top and tell home administrators about important changes. These terms follow the laws of the State of Wisconsin.
